BUMC Hosts Annual Dinner
Wednesday, November 19, 2008 • Posted November 18, 2008

The Blanco Ministers Fellowship will host its annual Thanksgiving Dinner at 6:30pm on Tuesday, November 25th at the Blanco United Methodist Church. This non-denominational event offers the community an opportunity to gather together and enjoy one another’s company for an evening.

Several of the local congregations are working together to plan, prepare, and serve a traditional turkey and dressing Thanksgiving meal. The Methodist church is offering its facility and people to serve the meal, the Episcopal church is making the dressing, Trinity Lutheran is preparing the vegetables and salads, the Baptist church is providing the turkeys, and the New Hope Lutheran church is bringing the desserts.

Last year about 160 people were served, and this year preparations are being made to serve 175 or more. Skip Brasher, pastor of the New Hope Lutheran Church will lead the devotional time.

There is no cost for the meal, however, donations will be gladly accepted to help cover costs and provide for the needs of people in our community.
