Ranch Hiway Club Meeting

The members of the Ranch Hiway Club of the Blanco County Extension Education Association met Tuesday, October 2, in the home of Dolores Schwertz for the organizational meeting for the new year. Twelve members and one guest, Jo Meeks, were present. Dues were collected as were contributions for the community service project that aids several local service organizations.

Announcements: All club members received an invitation to help celebrate the 90th birthday of club member Bea Ellison at the Baptist Church on October 14. The County wide 4H Youth Show will be January 24 and 25 at the Fair Grounds in Johnson City. Several members volunteered to help with the Show.

The Fall Tour for all clubs in the county will be a trip to Arnosky Farms on October 24.

Vice President Gwen Risinger, program chairman, distributed the Year Book for 2007-2008 and gave an overview of the contents of the book and happenings for the new year.

At the close of the program, hostesses Dolores Schwertz and Linda Baylis served the group delicious refreshments.

Educational programs conducted by Texas Cooperative Extension serve people of all ages regardless of socioecononic level, race, color, gender, religion or national origin.
