We need to send birthday wishes to JUDY BREWER and CHERYL ECKENRODE. They are older now
Sadly, there was no sighting of Ada Cooley this week. However, I did see Lonie Ethridge, who is Winston Moore's mother-in-law. She sure is a nice lady. He is a lucky man.
The granddaughter of Leona and TD Smylie got fourth chair in the all-state band (I hope I am getting the band part right) in Oklahoma.
There weren't very many Blanco-ites at the Starlight Orchestra concert this year, which is a shame, because it was VERY GOOD! This was my first time, so maybe you all have been before and know the drill. A young lady named Carolyn was the guest conductor for Sleigh Ride, and she did a wonderful job - she even got to keep the Santa hat!
The Silver Tea hosted by the Blanco Women's Club on Sunday was also wonderful - the food was delicious, but there weren't many people there to enjoy it - however, that left more for me. Tina Gourley can certainly cut a rug!!!
The Blanco County Community Choir's performances were well-attended. Handel's Messiah may not be to everyone's taste (I know some people would rather have sing-along Christmas carols) but we did a dandy job, if I do say so myself!
Until next time, peace out!
