While our weather here in the Hill Country has always been a bit unpredictable, don't you find it a little weird that we had three years of pretty severe drought, extreme, record-setting heat, and now this year, record-setting rains?

We've all heard the stories about cow flatulence and such being the biggest cause of global warming. After all, if it's the cows' fault, we don't have to change any of our habits.

Whatever you believe about the possible causes of all this strange weather - world wide - it's helpful to know the facts.

This week's movie at the Blanco Film Society will explore some of these causes, and potential solutions. "An Inconvenient Truth," the documentary made by former Vice President Al Gore, is a wake-up call that cuts through the myths and misconceptions to deliver the message that global warming is a real and present danger.

It could be, after all, that WE are a large part of the problem. If you believe you are one of God's stewards of our Earth, please put aside your politics and join the Blanco Film Society this Saturday night to become part of the solution.
