You can’t change when or where your house was built. And unless you want to spend a lot of money that you’ll never recoup in a sale, now’s not the time to knock down walls or build an addition. But there are ways to make your rooms look bigger, and I recommend that you try some before you put your house on the market. You don’t have to be a professional home stager to accomplish this trick, and you don’t need a lot of money.

The Blanco High School Junior Varsity cheerleaders attended NCA Cheer camp last week in Blanco. During the three days of camp, the girls earned the following awards: Herkie Team Award, Stunt Safe Award and Technical Excellence Award. They were also invited to attend the Christmas Extravaganza in Florida this year. Each girl was nominated for the All-American award.

I know a lot of people who suffer from environmental allergies and they are tired of taking medications and want to enjoy life especially during times of high pollen counts. I tell my clients and class participants to move ‘like you mean it.’ That means, don’t throw your weight around, literally. Move your body (and/or your weights) slowly and deliberately. Our bodies are amazing and can do countless wonderful things. Even so, all human movement can be broken down into five basic movements: push, pull, rotation, squat and single leg (lunge) movements. Have you ever wanted to build a robot- or learn wilderness survival- or have lessons on woodcarving? All these activities, plus many more, were offered for a week to scouts recently attending Boy Scout Camp Tahuaya near Lake Belton, TX. Fifteen boys and three adults from Blanco’s Boy Scout Troop 497, sponsored by the Blanco United Methodist Church, attended the fun-filled, busy week.

This year the Chapel In The Cove in Spring Branch, Texas is celebrating the twentieth anniversary of Pastor Doug Groen’s ministry. He is believed to have the longest tenure of any Pastor in the Canyon Lake area. Pastor Groen is a retired U.S. Army Chaplain. Following college and seminary training in the Midwest, Pastor Groen volunteered to become a U.S.

The Blanco Chamber of Commerce held a Ribbon Cutting to welcome Dr. Scott Jurica to Dr. Schramm’s office at 405 Main St on Thursday, July 10. Dr Scott Jurica, DC, born in Austin and raised in south Texas, grew up around natural and holistic medicine his entire life. Dr Scott Jurica finished his pre-med studies at Texas A&M and his bachelors degree at Southwest Texas (now Texas State) in San Marcos.

Mildred Oleta Hille, 91, of Kendalia, Texas was called to the Lord on July 8, 2014. Mildred was born in Irving, Texas and graduated from Irving High School. She met the love of her life shortly before WWII and after a long distance romance, Richard T. “Dick” Hille returned home and the two were married in Dallas, Texas on August 28, 1945.
