Stephanie Laurel Dosser received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Texas Woman's University on May 10, 2013. Stephanie is the daughter of Jerry and Deanna Dosser of Blanco. She is a 2009 graduate of Baylor University and a 2005 graduate of Blanco High School. Doctor Dosser will begin her practice in the Dallas, Texas area.

Juan and Rosa Vargas would like to proudly announce the graduation of their youngest daughter, Janette M. Vargas from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida with a Juris Doctor Degree concentrating on immigration law. While at St. Thomas, Janette was a member of the St. Thomas University Immigration Clinic, and provided legal services to the Miami community as a law student representative.

On Saturday, April 20th Blanco County Aggie Moms will hold their annual Garage Sale. The Garage Sale is 8 am – 2 pm at 603 Fourth Street (Immel’s Dairy Service). This is a large multi-family sale. Sale items will include appliances, furniture, household items, home décor, accessories, kids’ items, athletic equipment, automotive accessories, and much, much more! The Blanco Volunteer Fire Department held their annual fundraiser on April 6th at the fire station. The members were overwhelmed with the attendance of supporters. Thanking everyone is almost impossible. We had so many volunteers, members and non members that did whatever they could to help make the fish fry a success.

Mr. Terry Rodgers and Ms. Carol Swanson are pleased to announce their engagement. Mr. Rodgers currently resides near Burnet where he is the manager of Inks Lake State Park. Prior to that, he was the manager of Blanco State Park for 18 years. Ms. Swanson calls Buda home, and is employed with the Hays CISD.

The Blanco FFA Chapter recently competed at the Tarleton State University Invitational Career Development Events in Stephenville this past week. Overall, more than 7,800 contestants from over 550 schools, class 1A-5A, competed this year in more than a dozen events. This year’s competition set a record for the number of schools and contestants and once again makes this the largest youth competitive event in the nation.
