Seven members of the Blanco FFA Chapter recently attended and helped work the 4th Annual San Antonio International Farm & Ranch Show held at the San Antonio Livestock Exposition show grounds and Freeman Coliseum. The show, which annually draws people from all across Texas and the Southwest, offers educational opportunities and seminars in addition to specialized training over new advancements in farming and ranching.

On November 10, 2012 at the Northwest Marriott Hotel in San Antonio, Texas, Ron Houston was posthumously inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame honors those who have made significant and notable and extraordinary contributions to the radio industry in Texas.
Ron’s career spanned more than 40 years at various radio stations in the San Antonio area including KTSA, KEXL, KBUC, KFAN, and KENS AM.

On Saturday evening, November 17, Christyn Champion shot her first deer, a doe, on her family’s farm just east of Blanco with a 270 Winchester.

Two former Blanco football players, Derek Tesch (2009) and Henry Greathouse (2010), study at and play for the Texas A&M University-Kingsland Javelinas. Derek is the team's deep snapper and plays tight end. In 2011, Derek was named to the Lone Star Conference First Team as a deep snapper and honorable mention as a tight end.

Payton DuVall came home to Blanco this past weekend from College Station and Texas A&M to go hunting with her grandfather on the family ranch just north of town. She has been hunting on the ranch since she was 12 years old and has had successful hunts for 8 straight years.
