Kenneth Wede Schuetz, age 73, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2014, in Abilene, Texas. He was born on August 1, 1941, in Blanco, Texas, to Kermit and Edna (Hudspeth) Schuetz. He served in the United States Navy for four years and was on high alert during the Cuban Crisis. On May 30, 1966, he was united in marriage to Janice Gelvern in Orange, Texas.

Moses Harry Hesskew, “The Watermelon Man,” 80, of Blanco, formerly from Floresville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2014 surrounded by his family. Funeral services were held at 10am Tuesday, October 14th at Blanco Cemetery. Visitation was held on Monday from 5-7pm at Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Blanco, Texas.

Mr. Moore Graham, Jr., “Moe”, 77 of Blanco and formerly of The Grove, Texas went home to be with the Lord on September 29, 2014. Please join the family of Tiffany Chesterman Hill in celebration and remembrance of her life. Tiffany is survived by her mother Carol, daughter Skylar, sister Jennifer, niece Brandy, nephew Richard, and many extended family and friends. Tiffany was taken from us suddenly in May of this year and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Norma Ruth “Jackie” Pearce passed away on August 11, 2014 at the age of 90. She was born in Blanco County on August 9, 1924 one of seven children born to Clyde L. and Tempie Maddox Gipson. According to her brothers, she was nicknamed “Jackie” because of a stubborn streak. For the first few years, Jackie rode 4 miles on horseback to attend school in Johnson City.

Robert Benjamin Felps, Jr. (R.B.) was born September 5, 1936 in a farmhouse on Yeager Creek Road, Blanco County, Texas, to Robert Benjamin Felps, Sr. (Bob) and Anna Lou Pellar Felps and passed away on August 13, 2014. At a very young age he was faced with taking over his father’s business, which later became known as Felps Manufacturing Corporation, a business that he eventually turned into an empire. R.B.
