Franklin Palmer Crofts, Jr., known by most as “Sandy” passed away Sunday afternoon, April 7, 2013 at Lighthouse Hospice in Round Rock, TX. He was born October 9, 1943in Cisco, TX to Franklin Palmer Crofts and Evelyn Halbert Crofts. Sandy was loved by all who knew him. He loved people, shooting his guns, riding hismotorcycle and helping people. During his lifetime he was a rancher, a truck driver for approximately 45 years haven driven several million miles never injuring anyone.

Jewel Lee Uecker Deloach, 95, passed away April 6, 2013 in Fredericksburg. She was born in Blanco Co. May 11, 1917 to Robert A. Cravatt and Sammy T. Tanner Cravatt. Jewel was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Joseph Cullen Uecker and Dugan D. Deloach; grandson, Mark Uecker, all nine of her brothers and sisters, and one daughter-in-law, Greta Uecker.

Arvin Otto Weber, 90, of Blanco, Kendall County, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013 surrounded by family. Services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blanco, with Rev. Dr. Bobby Leggett officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, April 5, 2013 at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home in Blanco.

Randy Way, 54 of Blanco passed away on Sunday at his home surrounded by his loving family. Graveside services were held on Thursday March 28, 2013 at the Masonic Cemetery in Johnson City under the direction of Crofts – Crow Funeral Home in Blanco. Randy was born on March 29, 1958 to Kenneth Richard Way and Wanda (Wood) Owens.

Michael James Murphy was born October 15, 1972, graduated from LBJ High School in 1990, and attended Loras College in Iowa. The Lord blessed him with great wit, charisma and charm. Michael was celebrated and won numerous awards for his tremendous acting and writing skills. He possessed a passion for music and upon reviewing old pictures; it was rare to find him without a guitar in his hand, an instrument he taught himself to play.

Egon G. Artzt was born September 30, 1923 and went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2013 at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his parents Erich C. Artzt and Emma (Mueller) Artzt, son David E. Artzt. Egon graduated from Blanco High School in 1941, joined the US Coast Guard and served four years.

Vernon Edwin Schmidt, 99, peacefully went to be with the Lord at his home surrounded by his loving family on March 20, 2013. He was born January 16, 1914, seven miles west of Blanco on Crabapple Creek Rd. Vernon lived and worked in and around Blanco all of his life.

Richard Dean Stone, born in San Antonio, Texas and long-time resident of Blanco, Texas, went to be with the Lord on March 13, 2013. He was preceded in death by his mother, Billie Stone, and father, Harold Stone, also of Blanco. He had only one brother, Gary Stone and wife Jan and children Brittany, Brandon, and Tabitha, all of Temple, Texas. Rick, as he was known by his friends, spent the last several years at the nursing home in Johnson City and made many friends there.

John E. Walton enjoyed 85 wonderful years of life, leaving us on February 12, 2013. He was born on July 5, 1927 in Denver, Colorado to Edward and Josephine Walton. John was blessed with a sister Barbara Brun and brother Jim and sister-in-law, Nancy Walton. He married Lucille Walton in Boulder, Colorado 58 years ago on September 4, 1954.

Mrs. Lindeman was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wesley Wayne Lindeman; an infant son; brother, A.J. “Farmer” Wagner; three sisters, Lela “Jake” Kruckemeyer, Grace Flugrath, and Bertha Page.

Charlie Rappmund, 93, passed away February 11, 2013 in Blanco, TX. He was born November 4, 1919 in Converse, TX to Louis Rappmund and Martha Huebner Rappmund. His siblings are Erman Rappmund, Raymond Rappmund and Adeline Rappmund. Charlie served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII and worked twelve years for the Bindseil Red & White Grocery and Feed store.

Martha Elizabeth Smith Moore Bates, 88 of Blanco, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013. Martha was born on April 2, 1924, in Clayton, New Mexico to Charles Robert and Nora (Hooser) Smith. Martha was the oldest, followed by a brother Thad and then Jim. She had so many fond memories of growing up with her brothers, tree houses, swimming in the creeks, visiting cousins, and chores from living in the country.
