Bruce Hall Cain, 66, longtime resident of Blanco County, passed away in the loving company of his family in Florida on January 18, 2013. He was born in Washington, DC but had made central Texas his home since the mid 1970s. He taught middle school math and science in the Austin Independent School District for nearly 30 years before buying a small ranch for his retirement in Blanco.

Daniel Ewart Ramsey, M.D., age 55, passed away January 30, 2013 in Fredericksburg. Dan was born October 15, 1957 in Concordia, KS to Jed J. Ramsey and Frances Ewart Ramsey. After high school he received his bachelor’s degree from Lamar University and later received his medical degree from the University of Texas.
In 1989 he opened the Ramsey Clinic in Johnson City where he enjoyed serving the people of Johnson City and the surrounding area.

She was born May 12, 1934 in Blanco, Texas in a little rock house close to the Blanco River. She attended Blanco Public School and graduated with a degree in teaching from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State) with a major in Physical Education and a minor in English.

Sister Irini Garrett passed away on December 19, 2012 in Tucson, Arizona. Since June of 2008, Irini was a part of the sisterhood dedicated to St. Anthony Monastery in Florence, Arizona. Sister Garrett became a Scheema Nun (nun of highest degree) in September 2012 and was given the name of Sister Thekla.

Agnes Marie Crider, age 93, of Marble Falls passed away January 12, 2013. Agnes was born April 5, 1919, in Brenham to Stephan and Rosalie Michalak. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church. On June 29, 1941 she married J.R. "Pete" Crider in Brenham, followed by a move to Pete's hometown of Marble Falls, where Agnes and Pete lived for 71 happy years.

Hilda Matilda Neumann Hollingsworth Smith, 94, passed away January 14, 2013 in Johnson City. She was born in Cypress Mill, TX to Arthur Rheinhold Neumann and Olga Lydia Birck Neumann. Hilda is a descendant of the pioneering German immigrants who came to Texas in the mid 1800s. For over 42 years she was a regular member of the Home Extension Club, South Citizen 42 Club, Friendship 42 Club, and the Skip-Bo Club.

A memorial service for Carl Bragg, 63, of Sudan, was held Monday, January 21, 2013, at 1:30pm at the First United Methodist Church in Sudan, Texas. Rev. Larry Springer officiated. Combest Funeral Home is in charge of the cremation. Bragg died January 11, 2013, in Lubbock and his final resting place will be Pleasant Hills Cemetery in Pritchett, Texas.

Jack Dudley Felps was born November 28, 1939 to Wiley Alonzo Felps and Louella Barder in their home on Cottonwood Road, west of Blanco. Jack spent most of his childhood working in the fields, fishing and hunting on the banks of the Blanco River with his brothers and sister. He attended Blanco ISD for 12 years and graduated in 1958.

Maria Flores Salazar was called home by the Lord on December 21, 2012, at the age of 90. She was born in San Benito, TX, on August 20, 1922. She moved to Blanco in 1990 where she was surrounded by her loving family.
