On December 20, 2010, E. B. Franklin entered eternal life. E. B. was born January 21, 1942, in Blanco. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elta Flowers and Ernest B Franklin, Sr. He is survived by his wife Sharon, daughter Stacy Bates and husband Scott, grandson Cameron Cougot, two sisters and three brothers. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, December 21, at 1:30pm in the Blanco Cemetery, Blanco, TX.

Jan Freeman Engel, daughter of Amanda M. and Rance W. Freeman, was born on October 28, 1933 on the Lark Ranch in Live Oak County and passed away on December 20, 2010 in Blanco, Texas at the age of 77. Jan is proceeded in death by her husband Verne C. Engel and daughter Blye Engel Dollahite, sisters, Rose Ella Freeman, Clarella Waller, Patricia Fuller, and Mary Alpha Robison and brothers, R.W.

Ara Adnee Jones passed away on December 11, 2010 in Fredericksburg at the age of 81. She was born and raised in Blanco. Services will be held on Saturday, December 18 at 1:00pm at the Mt. Horeb Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Peyton Cemetery. A complete obituary will follow in next week’s paper.

Isabel Rodriguez, 67, passed away November 24 at a San Antonio hospital. She was born in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico February 28, 1943. She worked for Klepac Greenhouses in Blanco. She is survived by her husband, Jesus Rodriguez of Blanco, a son; Jaime and wife, Mary Rodriguez of Stonewall and two grandsons. A visitation and Rosary were held Saturday morning, November 27 at Crofts Funeral Home.

Carl F. Zieglar passed away on Friday, December 10, 2010. He was born in Dallas, Texas on October 28, 1928. He was raised in Blanco, Texas until he joined the U.S. Army. He proudly served his country for 25 years. He was a Veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

Nora Maxine (Waxler) Hines passed away November 18, 2010, in Llano, Texas. Nora was born July 19, 1934, to Albert L. Waxler and Hermina L. Beckmann on her grandmother’s ranch in Blanco, Texas. She married Charles E. Dixon on September 4, 1953, in California. They then moved to Birmingham, Alabama, where she raised her family.

Ellen and her identical twin, Eileen Phyllis Scott, were born on December 29, 1930 in San Antonio. Ellen was a graduate of Jefferson High School and Trinity University in San Antonio.
