The 7th grade Blanco football team defeated the Luling Eagles, 24-6, on Thursday, September 11. After an exchange of possessions, the Panther defense held firm on 4th down and took over on the Luling 37 yard line. Gunnar Granberg ran in for the touchdown, with Aaron Daniels scoring the 2 point conversion.

The Panther Junior Varsity clashed with the Luling Eagles on Thursday, September 11, falling 22-26. After trailing 0-20 in the first half the Blanco squad staged a second half comeback. The first Panther touchdown came in the 3rd quarter on a short yardage quarterback sneak by Kelby Cox. Cox completed a pass to Kailen Webster for the 2 point conversion.

The Blanco 8th grade football squad lost, 6-14, to the Luling Eagles on Thursday, September 11. On the Blanco kick off, Lane Lowak made the tackle on the Luling 34 yard line. On the next play the Eagles ball carrier ran 66 yards for the touchdown. The 2 point conversion was stopped by a tackle from Justin Wardlow.

Bret Leigh Nance took first place in the cross country meet in Harper on September 13, with a time of 12:29. She is pictured above with Cross Country coach Stuart Shultz. She also took 2nd place at Comfort on September 6, with a time of 12:35. Breanna Collins placed 13th at Comfort.

The Game Ball for the Blanco Panther’s second home game was won by Nathan Tomlinson. The Ball was presented by Lions president Tom Davidson. All the money raised from sale of football chances is used to provide scholarships to graduating Blanco Seniors.

After three quarters of trading field position and battling wet, sloppy conditions, the Blanco Panthers came to life, scoring three times to pull away for their third win of the season as the Panthers defeated the visiting Luling Eagles 38 to 6 in what proved to be a very hard fought game. The opening quarter of play saw no scoring by either side as fumbles and punts prevented either team from mounting any serious scoring threats.

Playing their first District 25-3A game, the Panthers swept the Florence Lady Buffaloes 25-12, 25-12, and 25-11 on Friday, September 12. Reagan Rogers paced the team with 25 kills, 5 service aces, 8 digs and 1 block. Lexee Jenkins made 28 assists, 2 kills, 1 ace, and 4 digs. Abbie Culton hit 3 kills, 2 assists, 1 ace, and 2 digs.

The Lady Panthers volleyball team captured 2nd place in the highly competitive Bastrop ISD tournament on August 21-23 and then followed up with a 3rd place finish in the tough St. Mary’s Hall Tournament on September 5 and 6. On Thursday in the Bastrop tournament the Panthers defeated Little River Academy, 2-0, Rockdale, 2-0, but then lost to Bryan Rudder, 0-2.

After a scoreless first half defensive battle, the Bobcats pulled ahead of the Panthers for the win, 14-8. One minute into the 3rd quarter, Comfort scored a touchdown, but missed the kick for the extra point. The Bobcats made their second touchdown and the 2 point conversion late in the 4th quarter.

Blanco improved to 2 and 0 this past Friday after traveling to Comfort and shutting out the Bobcats 41 to 0. The Panthers dominated from start to finish as the only thing that could slow down Blanco in the second half was a running clock. Overall, Blanco would out gain the Bobcats by almost 300 yards in total offense. The Panthers wasted little time in establishing control of the game as the Blanco defense forced a quick three out by the Bobcats to give Blanco the ball just inside the 50 yard ...

The Lady Panthers defeated the Geneva School of Boerne Eagles, 3-1, on Tuesday, August 26. Game scores were 25-23, 24-26,25-17, and 25-20. On Friday, August 29, the Panthers stopped the Canyon Lake Lady Hawks 3-1. After dropping the first game, 21-25, the Blanco girls rallied back to take 3 straight with scores of 25-23, 25-12, 25-14. The Freshmen squad won their match against Boerne Geneva 2-1, but lost 0-2 to Canyon Lake.

The Panther Junior Varsity football team lost their season opener, 8-27, to the Canyon Lake Hawks on Thursday, August 28. After the Canyon Lake kickoff, the Panther offense started on their own 35 yard line. After a pass completion from Quarterback Kelby Cox, the Panthers fumbled on the 40 yard line.

The 2014 football season opened with a big win for the Blanco Panthers as they defeated the visiting Canyon Lake Hawks 35 to 7. The Panthers scored in every quarter while holding the Hawks to just 153 yards in total offense. Blanco scored the season’s first TD on a 29 yard pass play from QB McKay Adamson to Colton Elrod with just over a minute left in the first quarter.

On Monday, August 18 the Panther volleyball team defeated the Burnet Lady Bulldogs 19-25, 25-21,27-25, 25-20. Reagan Rogers paced Blanco with 35 kills and 13 digs. Lexee Jenkins made 41 assists. Payton Savarino hit 3 aces. Skylar Burns made 3 blocks, with Abbie Culton adding 12 digs. The junior varsity lost 15-25 and 17-25.

Following scrimmages in Blanco and Boerne on August 8 and 9, the Panther Volleyball Team drove the short distance to Bulverde to face Bracken Christian on Tuesday, August 12 for their first game of the season. The Varsity swept Bracken winning in three set, 25-14, 25-17, and 25-12. Senior Reagan Rogers led the team with 18 kills and 4 blocks.
