From the opening kick-off to the last second of the game, the Blanco Panthers dominated the Boling Bulldogs in Bastrop this past Thursday to claim a Bi-District Championship and improve to 11 and 0 for the season. The 7th Grade Blanco football team hosted Natalia for their final game of the season on Thursday, November 6. The 7th grade Panthers did not disappoint, as the defense dominated and the offense rolled, defeating the Mustangs 36-0. The Panthers started strong scoring in only 3 plays with a 34 yard touchdown run by Clayton Brown, followed by the 2 point conversion run by Gunnar Granberg.

The 8th Grade Panther football team followed their undefeated 7th grade year with only one loss and an undefeated district championship with a 39-12 victory over Natalia on Thursday, November 6. After the Blanco kick off, the Panther defense forced the Mustangs to punt. Tyler La Rue returned the punt for 12 yards.

The Blanco Lady Panther Volleyball team captured the Region IV Runner-up trophy on Saturday, November 15 after having defeated Brooks Academy 3-0, Enda 3-0, Goliad 3-1, and Taft 3-1. The Panthers fell to the Poth Pirettes 3-0 in the Regional Finals. On Tuesday, November 11, Blanco defeated Goliad at Seguin High School 25-18, 22-25, 25-12, and 25-20 to take the regional quarter final match and earn a berth at the regional tournament in San Antonio at Blossom Athletic Center.

The Blanco Junior Varsity Football team ended their season with a 36-6 victory over the Natalia Mustangs. With the win over Natalia, the Panthers finish 7-3 for the season and 4-0, undefeated, in district play. After the Natalia kickoff, the Panthers took only 2 plays to score a touchdown on a 75 yard run by Kameron Martinez.

In the Area round of playoffs the Lady Panthers defeated the Edna Cowgirls 25-14, 25-22, and 25-13 on Thursday, November 6. The faced the Goliad Tigerettes on Tuesday, November 11 at Seguin High School. Scores were not available at press time.

The Blanco Panthers wrapped a perfect regular season and district schedule by picking up their 10th win this past Friday in an easy victory over the visiting Natalia Mustangs. Blanco coasted to a 54 to 6 win to set-up a bi-district play-off against the Boling Bulldogs. Blanco took command of the game early, scoring 4 times in the opening quarter of play for a 28-0 lead.

The 8th grade Panther football team remained undefeated in district play with a Thursday, October 23 win over the Karnes City Badgers, 29-0 and a Thursday, October 30 victory over the Poth Pirates, 28-8. At Karnes City, the Panther defense set the tone for the night with Kyle Martinez, Jesus Arteaga, Tyler LaRue, CJ Corbin, and Chance Horton combining for 19 tackles.

The 7th grade football team added two more district wins to their record with a 28-0 shutout over the Karnes City Badgers on Thursday, October 23 and a 34-24 win over the Poth Pirates on Thursday, October 30. Against the Badgers, the Panther defense delivered explosive tackling by Jonathan Gonzalez, Aaron Daniels, Kade Kneese, Marshall Symons, Gunnar Granberg, Hunter West, and Cade Calhoun.

The Blanco JV Football team recorded another district win with a 30-6 victory over the Karnes City Badgers on Thursday, October 23. The Panthers moved the opening kickoff downfield on runs by Toby Triesch, Kailen Webster, and Kameron Martinez. QB Kelby Cox also connected with Sebastian Thomas on a pass play.

Although the Panthers had all but wrapped up a play-off spot this season, they just needed one win in their final two games to clinch the District 14-3A Division II Championship. Blanco wasted little time in taking care of business as the Panthers put a damper on the Poth Pirates’ homecoming festivities with a 49 to 7 victory, improving to 9 and 0 on the season and 4 and 0 in district play. The Blanco Lady Panther cross country team is headed for the State meet after placing 2nd on Saturday, November 1 at the Region IV Cross Country Meet sponsored by the University of Texas at San Antonio at the National Shooting Complex. The Blanco Lady Panthers finished District 25-3A undefeated with a shutout victory over Georgetown Gateway College Prep Gators on Tuesday, October 28 with set scores of 25-11, 25-17, and 25-12. Against the Gators Reagan Rogers led the team with 16 kills, followed by Lexee Jenkins with 7 and Abbie Culton with 6.

On paper, this past Friday’s district match-up of undefeated teams looked to be a tough game for Blanco as they traveled to Karnes City to face the Badgers in a game that proved to have major implications towards winning the district championship. However, after one half of play, the Panthers proved to be way more than the Badgers could handle as Blanco remained perfect on the year improving to 8 and 0 with a 42 to 0 victory.
