The Panther powerlifting team traveled to Southside High School i San Antonio on Wednesday, February 4 to compete against lifters from San Antonio and surrounding schools. The athletes have three chances to complete three lifts including the squat, the bench press and the deadlift. The lifters score is the total of their best lift of each type. On the girls team Charity Windham and Jasmine Munoz both placed 2nd.

The Panthers moved themselves into 2nd placed behind Jarrell in District 25-3A with a 45-41 win over the Lago Vista Lady Vikings on Tuesday, February 3 and a 48-28 victory over the Florence lady Buffaloes on Friday, Feb. 6. Against Lago Vista, Lexee Jenkins paced the team with 15 points, followed closely by jamie McClinton with 11.

The Panther split District 25-3A games with a 44-63 loss to the Lago Vista Vikings on Tuesday, February 3 and a 54-49 win over the Florence Buffaloes on Friday, February 6. In the Lago Vista game, Tyler Schlinke led Blanco with 14 points. Jacob McCaslin scored 11 with Dawson Albin adding 6 points.

On College Football National Signing Day, February 4, Carson Kipp signed a commitment letter to play football for the Texas A&M Commerce Lions. “This is a day I’ve been looking forward to most of my life” said Carson at the signing in the Blanco High School Library. The Lady Panthers overwhelmed the Ingram Lady Warriors, 63-24, on Tuesday, January 27. Jamie McClinton paced the Panthers scoring 15 points. Lexee Jenkins followed closely sinking 13 points. Payton Savarino scored 9 points, with Charlsey Smith and Reagan Rogers each adding 8. Kendall Brock and Gracie Edmondson each made 4 points.

The Panthers lost to the Ingram Warriors, 51-61, on Tuesday, January 27 and fell to the state-ranked Jarrell Cougars, 44-74, on Friday, January 30. Jacob McCaslin led Blanco firing in 22 points. The Lady Panthers claimed a District 25-AAA win over the Comfort Deer, 41-35, on Tuesday, Jan. 20. Jamie McClinton led the team ripping the nets with 20 points. Payton Savarino scored 8 and Lexee Jenkins added 5. Charlsey Smith and Reagan Rogers each scored 3. Gracie Edmondson sank 2 points. The junior varsity also defeated the Deer, 43-37.

On Tuesday, January 20, the Panthers lost to the Comfort Bobcats, 33-48. Jacob McCaslin led the team with 9 points. Ty Royce scored 7, followed by Dylan Tesch with 6. The Lady Panthers basketball team trailed by only 6 points at the end of the 3rd quarter, but the 7th ranked Jarrell lady Cougars pulled ahead in the 4th for a 69-58 win. The Panthers were paced by Jamie McClinton and Charlsey Smith who each scored 18 points. Reagan Rogers added 11, with Lexee Jenkins scoring 6.

With hopes of playing in Thursday’s 3A Division II State Championship Game on the line this past Friday in Waller, the Panthers played a hard fought game that proved to be evenly matched for the first half of play. However, some missed opportunities by Blanco and the team speed of Newton allowed the Eagles to pull away in the second half and send the Panthers home as their season came to an end with a 48-21 loss. Newton opened the game with an 8 play 65 yard drive ending with a 1 yard run.

The Lady Panthers took on the Cole Cougars on tuesday, Dec. 9 losing 45-59. The Panthers were led by Lexee Jenkins scoring 19 points, Charlsey Smith made 10 points, with Payton Savarino addin 7.
