Kyle Gray, Layne Lassberg, Skylar Itz, and Chad Marshall received all tournament honors at the Texas Military Institute baseball tournament on Saturday, February 23. Kyle was named MVP for the tournament.

Panther softball started the season with 2 wins, defeating the Canyon Lake Hawks, 14 – 3 on Tuesday, February 19 and downing the Llano Yellowjackets, 10 – 5 on Friday, February 22.
Against the Hawks, batting 1000, with 2 hits, 2 walks and a “hit by pitch,” Leslie McClinton blasted into softball season with back-to-back homeruns.

The Panthers clashed with the Karnes City Lady Badgers for Bi-District at the Luling High School gym on Tuesday, February 12. Blanco outscored Karnes City for the win, 50 – 41.
Leslie McClinton ripped the nets for 18 points. Lexee Jenkins added 11 points. Jamie McClinton made 6, with Charlsey Smith scoring 5.

The Blanco Boys golf team finished third out of twelve teams at the Ingram Warrior golf tournament held Monday at Schreiner golf course in Kerrville.
“We shot 336 as a team, which is very good for a first tournament,” said coach Scott Balmos. “We are looking for our third championship in three years.”

The Panthers defeated the Johnson City Eagles on Tuesday, February 12 in a nail-biter in the final district game, 50 – 49. Leading the Panthers, Kyle Sauceda scored 16 points. Carlin Green added 12, with Brett Champion making 9. David Ramirez sank 6, and Colton Childress added 3. Sam Isenberg and Josh McCaslin each scored 2.
This win placed the Panthers in a tie with Ingram as co-district champs.

The Panthers battled the Lago Vista Vikings on Tuesday,, February 5 in their final district game. A Panther victory would tie the two teams in the district standings and force the teams to play again for playoff seeding. However, Blanco fell 32-46, giving Lago Vista the District championship.
Senior Leslie McClinton led the team with 15 points.

The Panthers recorded two more district wins to maintain their tie with Ingram for first in the District 27-2A race.
On Tuesday, February 5, the Panthers sank the Vikings, 61-33. Brett Champion paced the team scoring 14 points. Kyle Sauceda and David Ramirez each added 10 points. Josh McCaslin scored 8 with Carlin Green adding 7.

The Panther defense held the Ingram Warriors to only 4 points in the first half, while on the offensive end the team pumped in 31 points. Playing at home on Thursday, January 29, the Blanco girls finished the District 27-AA match up with a 55-24 win.
Lexee Jenkins tallied 17 points on many fast breaks and layups.

Avenging their previous 55-66 district 27-AA loss to the Ingram Warriors, the Panthers beat the Warriors 62-47 on Tuesday, January 29. Blanco displayed a balanced offensive attack combined with a tenacious defense to take the solid win. Blanco now stands at 4-1 in District 27-AA with Ingram at 5-1.
Kyle Sauceda pumped in 18 points to lead the Panthers.
