How do I start using feeds?

The first thing you need to read a news feed is software called a news reader. This software periodically checks the feeds you have subscribed to and lets you know when any new articles, photos, and more have been posted to the websites. There are web-based readers, which are accessed through your browser, and desktop applications that you download to your computer.

Web-based news readers are available from any Internet-connected computer, letting you read your feed subscriptions from many places. Desktop applications store your subscriptions on your computer, similar to an email client like Outlook or Thunderbird.
